It was a historic day for the team at Crawford Livestock Market as the barn posted the top seven 8-weight steer sales in the nation on Friday, May 9, each one setting new all-time records for the facility.
Among the standout sales were 71 head at 827 lbs and 70 head at 831 lbs. Both lots sold for an impressive $322.00 per hundredweight. They were followed by 63 head at 835 lbs and 49 head at 852 lbs, each bringing $320.00 per hundredweight.
The four standout lots now rank 5th through 8th all-time nationally for 8-weight steer prices, underscoring strong demand and high-quality cattle.
The market also saw notable performance in the 7-weight class, where three sales landed in the national top 10 for the day. Those trades now stand as the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th highest 7-weight sales in Crawford Livestock’s history.
Crawford Livestock Market expressed gratitude to the Sellman Ranch via social media for their continued trust and partnership in marketing their livestock. The barn credited the record-breaking day to a strong cattle market, quality consignments, and a commitment to professional marketing.
