BURWELL – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says Homestead Knolls campground and boat ramp at Calamus Reservoir State Recreation Area have reopened for public access.
The area was closed as part of the Calamus road project that focused on roadway and campsite improvements and boat ramp parking area improvements. The project also addressed Americans with Disabilities Act compliance for the area.
Visitors can still expect some areas around the park to be closed to public access.
All campsites at Homestead Knolls campground will be available on a first-come, first-served basis over Memorial Day weekend. Reservations for the rest of the 2025 season will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 26. Reservations can be made online at OutdoorNebraska.gov or by calling 402-471-1414.
