Lincoln, NE – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking applications for an Emergency Medical Services (community or county-based) member, an Emergency Medical Services (hospital-based) member, and an Ancillary Healthcare provider member on each of the six newly established Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Health Care Advisory Regions (HCARs) in Nebraska.
HCARs are being established across Nebraska to provide structured, region-specific health care insight and coordinated input into RHTP. HCARs ensure that RHTP initiatives are informed by local health care delivery realities, workforce conditions, infrastructure capacity, and community needs, while remaining aligned with statewide priorities and DHHS program requirements. Additionally, HCARS will ensure consistent, geographically grounded engagement and strengthen two-way communication among DHHS, providers, and regional stakeholders.
HCAR members will serve a two-year term. Member responsibilities include helping identify the health care needs in their region, including access to care, workforce, and infrastructure. Additionally, members will provide a regional perspective on initiative readiness and offer recommendations on tailoring initiatives to regional conditions, thereby supporting coordination among regional providers, partners, and stakeholders. During implementation, members will help identify new challenges, risks, and opportunities as they arise and communicate to DHHS what they see happening in their region, including the impacts and results of the initiatives.
