Area teams split across two meets Thursday, with Broken Bow and Mullen competing at the Buffalo Bill Invite in North Platte, while South Loup traveled to the Hi-Line Invite.
Buffalo Bill Invite – North Platte
Relay events set the tone for both Broken Bow and Mullen.
Broken Bow turned in a pair of third-place finishes in the girls 4×800 and 4×400 relays. Mullen followed closely, placing fifth in the 4×800 and sixth in the 4×400. On the boys side, Mullen claimed third in the 4×400 relay, while Broken Bow finished fifth.
In individual events, Broken Bow’s Aliyah Myer led the way with a third-place finish in the girls 400 meters. The discus also produced strong results, as Gunner Baltz placed third and Drew Ellis fourth. Ellis added a sixth-place finish in the shot put.
Broken Bow added depth with multiple top-six finishes:
- Bailey Faltys — 4th (triple jump), 5th (long jump)
- Kale Kulhanek — 4th (400)
- Halle Quinn — 4th (800)
- Charlee Myers — 4th (pole vault)
- Cooper White — 6th (300 hurdles)
- Ashlyn Schauda — 6th (1600)
- Arianna Johnson — T-6th (high jump)
Mullen’s top performances were led by Cayden Hampton, who placed third in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 110 hurdles. Alex Werner added a fifth-place finish in the 400, while Jenna Donohoe was sixth in the girls 300 hurdles.
Hi-Line Invite
South Loup posted a balanced team performance, finishing fourth in both the boys and girls standings as Alma swept the team titles.
The Bobcats produced two event champions:
- Evalynn Wonch — 1st, girls discus (108’9”)
- Elijah Cool — 1st, boys 1600 (4:55.43)
South Loup also won the girls 4×100 relay, with Asa Starr, Rae Hagler, Erin Fitzgerald, and Olivia Fitzgerald clocking 52.82.
The Bobcats added runner-up finishes in both the boys and girls 4×800 relays, while Erin Fitzgerald placed second in both the 200 and 400.
Additional top-six finishes for South Loup included:
