LEXINGTON — McCook captured the team title at the Lexington Boys Golf Invite, posting a low score of 327 to lead a competitive 12-team field.
Ogallala finished runner-up with a 332, followed by host Lexington at 334. Cozad placed fourth with a 338, while Minden and Northwest each turned in team scores of 341.
Broken Bow finished with a team score of 346, placing in the middle of the standings in a tightly packed field.
McCook’s balanced lineup powered the championship effort, led by Trenton Raile’s round of 80 and Brody Anthony’s 81. Wyatt Benes added an 82, while Cruz McCarty carded an 84 to round out the scoring.
Ogallala was paced by Rylan Gilmore, who shot a 78, one of the lowest rounds of the day, while Easton Knispel added an 80 to keep the Indians in contention.
For Broken Bow, Garrett Johnk turned in the team’s top performance with an 83. Adrian Gibbons followed with an 86, while Jack White added an 87. Bowen Ridder carded a 90 to complete the scoring, as the Indians worked through a challenging course.
Lexington was led by Jaxon Neff, who posted a strong round of 76 — one of the top individual scores of the tournament — helping the Minutemen secure a third-place finish on their home course.
Kearney finished with a 349 team score, while North Platte (348) and Gothenburg (350) were also in the mix in a tightly contested leaderboard where just a few strokes separated multiple teams.
The invite featured consistent scoring across the field, with several teams clustered within a narrow margin, highlighting the depth of competition early in the spring season.
