It was a full slate of competition for area track and field teams, with Broken Bow competing at the Dutch Zorn Invite in Gothenburg, while several area schools also turned in strong performances at meets in Ravenna and Shelton.
At the Dutch Zorn Invite in Gothenburg, Broken Bow posted multiple top-10 finishes and personal bests.
Andrew Ellis led the boys with a third-place finish in the shot put (51-9), while Aiden Page added a fifth-place finish and later took ninth in the discus. On the track, Kale Kulhanek placed ninth in the 400 meters and added an 800-meter run of 2:23.63. Gabe Winter recorded a personal-best in the 1600 meters.
Broken Bow’s 4×100 relay team placed sixth, while the 4×400 relay added a top-10 finish. On the girls side, Halle Quinn led the way with a runner-up finish in the 800 meters, while Charlee Myers placed third in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 10-1. The girls 4×800 relay finished fourth.
At the Ravenna Invite, several area athletes stood out across multiple events.
Ravenna’s Mannox Martin dominated the throws, winning both the shot put and discus. The Bluejays also swept the hurdles, with Jack Kucera and Tyce Coufal finishing first and second in both the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Amherst’s Isaac Chavez captured titles in both the 100 and 200 meters, while teammate Gavin Davis won the 400 meters. Ravenna’s Carson Maulsby claimed the 800-meter title, and the Bluejays added a strong showing in the relays.
On the girls side, Ravenna’s Ebony Bock placed second in the 100 and third in the 200, while Natalie Deines won the shot put. Breckyn Wick added a runner-up finish in the discus. Ansley-Litchfield’s Bayler Clay highlighted distance events with a win in the 3200 meters.
At the Shelton Invite, Pleasanton and Central Valley athletes delivered several standout performances.
Pleasanton’s Brennan Lindner had one of the top performances of the meet, winning both the 100 meters and 400 meters, including a personal-best 50.90 in the 400. Teammate Sam Smith added a third-place finish in the long jump, while Alex Naiman contributed multiple top finishes, including eighth in the 100 and eighth in the long jump.
Central Valley found success in the field and hurdles events. Zavyer Wolf placed in both hurdle races, finishing third in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110 hurdles, while Oaklan Soto placed in both the long jump and triple jump. Zevan Wolf cleared 6-1 to finish second in the high jump.
On the girls side, Central Valley’s Taylor McIntyre swept the sprints, winning both the 100 and 200 meters, and added a runner-up finish in the triple jump. Pleasanton’s Emme Westland placed second in both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, while Lily Chandler highlighted the field events by winning the pole vault with a personal-best 11-2 and adding a runner-up finish in the high jump.
Across all three meets, area teams combined for multiple event titles, personal bests, and top finishes, continuing to build depth and momentum as the season progresses.
