UPDATE: The Pressey Fire is now estimated to have burned 1,000 acres.
Oconto, NE – Multiple crews are responding to a vegetation fire at Pressey Park north of Oconto along the South Loup River.
Fire crews were dispatched earlier this afternoon to West Pressey Road on the west side of Hwy 21.
Reports from Sammie Sleicher with Sleicher Parks and Rec are saying the fire is on both sides of the South Loup River moving north.

Locals that are evacuating their homes on West Pressey Road are asking people to avoid the area as a lot of vehicles parked near are in the way of those fighting the fire or trying to evacuate.
