A man spending time in prison for a Hall County murder has died.
State prisons officials say 69-year-old Greg Carlson died Tuesday at an Omaha hospital.
He was incarcerated at the Omaha Correctional Center.
Carlson was accused of 1st-Degree Murder in 1998 out of Hall County.
He would later plead no contest to 2nd-Degree Murder in 1999, and was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison.
While the cause of his death has not yet been determined, officials say Carlson was being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
