A recent Facebook post on the condition of the Greenwood Cemetery near Lexington, has spurred many comments and even a petition on it. The issue came to the Lexington City Council Tuesday evening during the public comments portion of the meeting. Kerry Teetor says he maintains several plots out there and maintains the condition of the Cemetery has been going down for the past three years…
Steve Holbein told council members that he has been hauling water for 2.5 years to family plots that he tends to. He said he had a nice stand of grass at the plots “but, this year nothing.”…
Holbein noted that there is an online petition collecting signatures regarding the Cemetery condition.
Some comments suggested the Evergreen Cemetery along Highway 30 was in better condition than Greenwood. Mayor Johhn Fagot commented that the differences between the grasses at the two cemeteries as some of the issues with the appearance…
Mayor Fagot concluded that revitalizing the Greenwood Cemetery is something the City will continue to work on.
