The Nebraska Department of Agriculture and the Rural Response Hotline are partnering to offer a free farm and ranch clinic next week in Broken Bow at the Extension Office located in the basement of the Custer County Courthouse.
The clinic is designed for farmers, ranchers, and their families, providing confidential one-on-one sessions with an experienced agricultural law attorney and agricultural finance counselor. During the approximately hour-long appointments, attendees can discuss issues impacting their operations or families.
Topics commonly covered include estate and succession planning, financial and operational concerns, beginning farmer programs, real estate and lease issues, fence law, property rights, farm loans and loan programs, and debtor-creditor law.
Organizers say they understand this is a busy time of year for producers with spring planting underway and encourage those interested in attending to reserve a spot as soon as possible. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline at 1-800-464-0258.
Another free farm and ranch clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, in Norfolk.
