Auction items ranging from custom firearms and hunting trips to tractors, artwork and even a irrigation pivot will be up for grabs during this year’s Cattlemen’s Ball in Cozad, with proceeds going towards cancer research.
Tim Sladek, a member on the underwriting committee, said donations are still being accepted for the event, although late entries will likely be placed in the silent auction since the live auction catalog has already gone to print.
The Cattlemen’s Ball is set for June 5 and 6 in Cozad and will feature four separate live auctions throughout the weekend, including events Friday evening, Saturday morning, during the ranch rodeo and the Saturday night main event.
According to the Sladek, 90 percent of the money raised goes to the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, while the remaining 10 percent stays local to support area health related causes.
While some auctions may lean more toward agriculture or ranching related items, Sladek said the committee tried to create a balanced mix for attendees providing unique opportunity.
In addition to the live auctions, a silent auction will also take place throughout the event weekend with items available for attendees of all interests and budgets.
Tickets for the Cattlemen’s Ball must be purchased ahead of time and will not be available at the gate. For purchasing tickets the deadline is scheduled for May 20, 2026.
Attendees interested in bidding during the live auction can register for a bidder number onsite during the event.
