A North Platte man and convicted sex offender accused of sexually assaulting a child was arraigned in district court on Monday.
Lincoln County District Court records show 43-year-old John Barr III pled not guilty to 3rd-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, 2nd Offense.
Court records say his next hearing was set for July 13th at 10:00 a.m.
According to an arrest affidavit, Barr is accused of sexually assaulting a child under 10-years-old.
The affidavit says when confronted by investigators, Barr denied sexually assaulting the child.
Barr was previously convicted of Attempted 1st-Degree Sexual Assault in Lincoln County in 2013 and served nearly five years of his sentence before being released in 2018.
