Grand Island, NE – Central District Health Department (CDHD) Board of Health announces Dr. Tori Ponson has been named as the new CDHD Health Director.
Dr. Ponson brings significant fiscal oversite experience and program management to the position. He comes to CDHD with over 10 years of public health background. His degrees include a Bachelor of Science, Microbiology, a Master of Public Health, and a Doctorate in Public Health. “Dr. Ponson was chosen at the completion of a national search” states Debb Niles, CDHD Board President, adding, “Dr. Ponson brings with him the skills and experience necessary to support and expand CDHD’s programs and services to meet the needs of our community,”
Teresa Anderson, CDHD Health Director for the past 22 years, expresses excitement, “Tori is here to continue the story of CDHD that we have been writing over the years. Under his guidance, CDHD will continue to provide high quality programs and services designed to meet the needs of our community.”
Anderson will work with the Board, Dr. Ponson, CDHD staff, and community members over the next few weeks to ensure a successful leadership transition. Her last day is scheduled as June 12th, with occasional consultation as needed.
