CALLAWAY, Neb. — The 2026 Blowin’ the Door Off BBQ brought strong competition, community support, and nearly 1,000 attendees to this year’s event.
Vest Ranch earned the top overall finish, followed by Double D’s in second and Nelson BBQ in third. Attendance for the event was listed at 990.
Several teams were placed across multiple categories. Double D’s took first in Specialty Grill Masters, followed by Vest Ranch in second and Nelson BBQ in third. In pulled pork, Nelson BBQ finished first, New Guys BBQ took second, and Vest Ranch placed third.
Double D’s also claimed the top spot in beans, with Ribzilla finishing second and Nelson BBQ taking third.
In pork ribs, New Guys earned first place, followed by Nelson BBQ in second and 3 Amigos in third. Nelson BBQ took first in sauce, with Ribzilla placing second and Double D’s finishing third.
Vest Ranch also won the beef brisket category, followed by New Guys in second and Double D’s in third.
Raffle winners were also announced during the event. Bill Cook won a Traeger grill, Todd Mundhenke won a shotgun, JB Ross won a Henry rifle, Monte Dodd won a Mills Hardware gift card, and Todd Mundhenke also won a Grocery Kart gift card.
Organizers thanked the many sponsors, judges, landowners, spouses, and volunteers who helped make the event possible.
