On Tuesday, June 9, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Furnas County Sheriff’s Office, Oxford Fire and EMS, and Holdrege Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 6/34.

According to a Harlan County Sheriff’s press release, an SUV driven by 20-year-old Logan Gordon of Oxford was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line about a half mile south of Rd 724. The SUV struck an eastbound semi driven by Martin Miller of Ord.
The semi came to a stop on the south shoulder of the Highway 6/34, and Miller was not injured.
The collision forced the SUV on to its side and into the north ditch. Gordon was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Harlan County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident along with Troop D of the Nebraska State Patrol.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
