A swearing-in ceremony is scheduled next month for newly appointed Nebraska Court of Appeals Judge Michael E. Piccolo. The investiture will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, in the second-floor rotunda of the State Capitol in Lincoln. The public is invited to attend the ceremony marking Piccolo’s formal entry onto the appellate bench.
Judge Patrick Heng will officiate, with Chief Judge Francie Riedmann administering the oath of office and Governor Jim Pillen presenting the certificate of appointment. Chief Justice Jeffrey Funke and other Nebraska Supreme Court justices are also expected to participate. Piccolo, of North Platte, was appointed to the Sixth Judicial District Court of Appeals seat in April following the upcoming retirement of Judge Frankie Moore at the end of June.
