Lexington, Neb. — Individuals who are experiencing a layoff were invited to attend a Rapid Response session Thursday at the Lexington Opportunity Center, hosted by the Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL).

LeClair says the sessions were also structured to help employees understand the need to get organized….
LeClair says unemployment benefits help support employees while they search for a new job. He adds that the state will also connect them with re-employment services for their next career step.
LeClair says the event also gave workers the opportunity to bring up topics they want to know more about such as health care, finances and other issues that the NDOL may not be able to take care of directly, but could fall into the area of supportive services that are available to employees.

Informational presentations and assistance were available at Central Community College. Staff were on site to answer questions and provide support in multiple languages.
NDOL encourages anyone experiencing a layoff to attend and take advantage of these resources. Unemployment claims should not be filed until employment ends, but registration in NEworks.nebraska.gov can be completed at any time.
Transportation Support for Reemployed Workers
Bus transportation is now available for former Tyson employees who have secured new employment in North Platte. Interested workers may contact their employer for details and sign‑up information or reach out to NDOL at ndol.employerservices@nebraska.gov.
