Two people are facing multiple charges after a pursuit in Dawson County.
According to court records, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper noticed a sedan speeding on Interstate 80 just east of Lexington early Wednesday morning.
The trooper stated the vehicle failed to yield and continued west on I80, speeding through a construction zone.
The vehicle then exited at the Darr interchange and continued north on Road 428.
The vehicle was driving at speeds at around 110 mph and had nearly struck the trooper’s patrol unit, according to court records.
Authorities say the vehicle lost control around the Road 428/Highway 30 intersection, entering the north ditch and then a cornfield, where it continued to drive northbound in the field.
The trooper was finally able to stop the vehicle and placed two people into custody.
Court documents say troopers searched the vehicle and located marijuana, drug paraphernalia including packaging related to drug transport, and around $40,000 in cash.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Rolando Solis of Illinois, is charged with two weapons counts, Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Possession of Drug Money, and Driving Under Revocation.
His bond was set at 10% of $200,000.
Meanwhile the passenger, 43-year-old Christy Calabria, also of Illinois, is charged with Possession of Drug Money, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Marijuana.
Her bond was set at 10% of $20,000.
Court records say both are due back in court on August 4th at 11:00 a.m.
