Ashton, Neb. — Emergency crews responded after Region 26 Emergency Management and the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday requesting grain bin extrication equipment at a location south of Ashton, Nebraska.
The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office says several local fire departments were paged to assist with manpower and equipment.
The individual was located and recovered from the grain bin. The Sheriff’s Office says the name of the person will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
Fire departments and agencies assisting at the scene included: Ashton Fire, Loup City Fire, Rockville Fire, Arcadia Fire, Farwell Fire, Boelus Fire, Ashton-Rockville-Loup City Cooperative Ambulance and AirCare.
The Sheriff’s Office says no further information is being released.
