Kearney’s new indoor football team will not join the National Arena League for the 2027, after the league released a statement Friday evening.
In the statement, the National Arena League, which was the Idaho Horsemen’s conference in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, said in the statement that the Tri-City Horsemen are “not currently a member organization of the National Arena League and will not be competing as an NAL franchise during the upcoming 2027 season. However, after many conversations with Chris Reynolds [owner], we understand that the organization intends to move forward with competing during the 2027 season, and we wish them nothing but success in their endeavors.”
The National Arena League (NAL) Board of Directors approved the Horsemen’s decision to pause operations for one year after the 2025 season, when the team announced it was looking to move.
The team announced earlier this week that it was relocating to Kearney for the 2027 season and would call the Viaero Center home.
What league the team will play in for the 2027 season is unclear.
