A Grand Island woman accused of taking payments for cemetery headstones that were never installed has taken a plea deal.
Hall County District Court records say 48-year-old Kelli Kepler was facing 46 counts of Theft by Deception.
Lepler, the former owner of Monument Advisors, is accused of receiving over $250,000 from 43 customers for headstones that prosecutors have said were never installed through her business.
According to court documents, Lepler pled no contest to three lesser felony counts of Theft by Deception, and in exchange, the other 40 counts were dismissed.
Documents say as part of the plea agreement, the State will request Lepler pay back around $266,636 in restitution, which is subject to change but the exact figure will be determined by the time she is sentenced.
Also, court records say the State will not request additional jail time, but will argue for the maximum about of post supervised release, and that the terms run consecutively for each count.
Lepler is scheduled to be sentenced in the case on September 30th at 1:30pm.
