A North Platte man is facing charges after authorities say he tried to entice who he thought was an underaged girl into sexual acts.
According to Lincoln County Court records, 24-year-old Robert Daley is charged with Sexual Assault by Use of an Electronic Communication Device and Child Enticement.
An arrest affidavit says the case began when an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl made contact with Daley.
Court documents say throughout communications, which took place between August 3rd and August 10th, Daley was allegedly told the child’s age multiple times.
Authorities say among the all alleged communications, Daley had discussed meeting the girl to perform sex acts.
According to the affidavit, Daley told the girl to lie about her age if they were caught.
On the afternoon of August 10th, Daley went toward Centennial Park in North Platte to meet with the girl, where he was arrested.
Court records say he was arraigned on the charges Tuesday, where his bond was set at 10% of $500,000.
His next court hearing is set for August 20th at 1:30pm.
