GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Four people are accused of entering and living in a vacant Grand Island residence without the homeowner’s permission, according to the Grand Island Police Department.
Police responded to a property on North Clark Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. Investigators said Angelic Oili, 45, of Grand Island; Sierra Curths, 30, who is listed as homeless; Chad Faubion, 49, who is also listed as homeless; and Archie Byrd, 48, of Grand Island, were found living inside the residence.
According to police, the four individuals were using the home’s electricity and plumbing despite knowing they were not paying for those services.
Police said Curths initially failed to comply with officers’ commands but eventually exited the residence. Faubion and Byrd allegedly refused lawful orders to leave the property and were later taken into custody.
Officers also reported finding a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in Byrd’s possession.
Oili was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Curths was arrested on suspicion of burglary and obstructing a peace officer.
Byrd was arrested on suspicion of burglary, obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Faubion faces allegations of burglary and obstructing a peace officer but was not immediately arrested because he was receiving medical treatment.
Those taken into custody were transported to the Hall County Department of Corrections.
The homeowner was identified by police only as a 75-year-old woman. All charges are allegations, and the accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
