Husker Harvest Days is adding a little more “happy hour” to the show this year.
The three-day agricultural show runs Sept. 15-17 near Grand Island, and organizers are introducing a new open-carry alcohol policy inside the fenced-in showgrounds.
Visitors 21 and older will be able to purchase beer and other alcoholic drinks from Hy-Vee and carry them throughout the trade show area while checking out equipment, exhibits and demonstrations.
The new Wyffels Watering Hole at Lot 237 will serve as the show’s designated beer garden. Drinks will cost $5, with options including:
- Budweiser
- Bud Light
- Coors
- Coors Light
- Miller Lite
- Busch Light
- Modelo
- Garage Lime
- High Noon and
- Surfside
Visitors will need a valid ID to receive a wristband allowing them to purchase alcohol throughout the day. Alcohol cannot be taken outside the show gates, and exhibitors cannot bring their own alcohol onto the grounds.
Organizers also remind visitors that golf carts and utility vehicles cannot be operated by anyone who has consumed alcohol.
