Congressman Adrian Smith is welcoming Vice President J.D. Vance to North Platte ahead of a campaign rally scheduled for Thursday, October 22. In a statement released Wednesday, Smith said he was “thrilled” to welcome the vice president to Nebraska’s Third District and praised North Platte’s history of hard work, service and opportunity.
Smith highlighted policy accomplishments he attributed to the Trump-Vance administration and Republican lawmakers, including tax reductions, regulatory changes and border security measures. He also pointed to the Working Families Tax Cuts package, which he said included provisions eliminating taxes on tips, overtime pay and Social Security benefits.
The congressman said the administration has recognized the importance of Nebraska agriculture and worked with Congress to expand markets for farmers and ranchers. Smith also cited his support for nationwide year-round E15 ethanol sales, which passed the U.S. House earlier this year. He said Vance’s rural background helps him understand Nebraska values and expressed appreciation for the vice president’s visit to the state.
