CUSTER COUNTY – The Custer County Sheriff’s office responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 2 west of Berwyn near the construction area.
Michelle Wallace of Broken Bow was traveling eastbound on Monday morning when she reportedly swerved to avoid a deer, lost control on the wet roadway and entered the south ditch. The vehicle became stuck in the mud while attempting to back out of the ditch.
The vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper. Wallace was wearing a seat belt, and no injuries were reported.
Trumbull Towing of Callaway removed the vehicle from the ditch. The sheriff’s office assisted with traffic control during the recovery.
