The Lincoln Police Department has completed its investigation into a 2024 no-bid emergency contract sought by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and has turned the case over to the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office for review. The department announced the investigation’s completion Thursday but did not release additional details about its findings.
According to LPD, its Technical Investigations Unit began investigating the matter in March 2026. The department said investigators used court-authorized processes to gather records and information and emphasized that the case required a thorough and methodical approach to ensure a complete investigation.
In a news release, LPD said investigators remained focused on conducting a detailed and unbiased investigation rather than meeting any specific timetable. The Attorney General’s Office will now review the case and determine any next steps.
