A Lincoln County man died Monday evening following a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle parked on Front Road west of North Platte. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at about 6:02 p.m. to the 8000 block of Front Road after receiving a report of a vehicle parked on the roadway without its lights on.
When deputies arrived about eight minutes later, they found that a motorcycle traveling westbound had collided with the rear of the parked vehicle. Deputies located the motorcycle’s lone rider and performed CPR until ambulance crews arrived. The rider, identified as Scott Coker, 60, of Lincoln County, was transported to Great Plains Health, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the parked vehicle was identified as Katherine Carrizales, 50, of Hershey.
Authorities said next of kin have been notified. The crash remains under investigation by Lincoln County accident reconstructionists, and an autopsy has been ordered.
