NORTH PLATTE – Weather permitting, the Nebraska Department of Transportation says work will begin Monday, April 14, on U.S. Highway 183 just south of Ansley from reference post 72.62 to reference post 88.39.
Vontz Paving Inc. of Hastings is the contractor for the project. Work will include bridge repair, milling, asphalt overlay, earth shoulder construction and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals, flaggers, and a pilot car.
Bridge repair work will begin Monday at reference post 79.81. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect for the duration of the bridge repair work, which is expected to be finished in May.
Upon completion of the bridge repair, construction will be suspended until August when milling and asphalt work will commence. A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect for the duration of asphalt work, which is expected to be finished in November.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
