An Aurora man accused of murdering a man and injuring two others appeared in Hamilton County District Court for arraignment on Thursday.
Court records say 31-year-old Caleb Arnett is charged with 1st-Degree Murder, two counts of 1st-Degree Assault, and three weapons counts.
Arnett said nothing at his arraignment, according to court documents.
The judge in the case entered a plea of not guilty on Arnett’s behalf.
Court records say a jury trial has been set for August 10th and will last two weeks.
A status hearing in the case is scheduled for July 2nd at 9 a.m.
An arrest affidavit says Arnett is accused of stabbing and killing 48-year-old Ross Nickolaus, while also injuring a woman and a juvenile in December of 2023.
His case had been held up for the past two years, as he had been found incompetent to stand trial several times.
It wasn’t until this past January that court records say a judge deemed Arnett competent to stand trial.
