Paul Douglas Brooks of Arapahoe appeared at the Furnas County District Court for a hearing Monday.
Court records say Brooks, now age 67, was initially charged with two counts of 1st-Degree Sexual Assault and one count of 3rd-Degree Sexual Assault of a child.
The alleged crimes occurred between 1998 and 2004 involving the same victim.
Documents say during Monday’s hearing, Brooks took a plea deal where the two 1st-Degree Sexual Assault counts were dropped, and the third charge was reduced to Felony Child Abuse.
District Judge Patrick Heng accepted the plea and found Brooks guilty of the charge.
Court records say Brooks is set to be sentenced on July 30th at 11:00 a.m.
The case involved a different victim than the one Brooks was convicted of in a previous Furnas County District Court jury trial conducted in June 2023.
In that case he was found guilty of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. He was sentenced to a term of from 25 to 35 years imprisonment and is serving his sentence in the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution near Tecumseh.

The victim in the older case was 15-years old at the time the sexual assault occurred in the basement of an Arapahoe home between September 21, 2019 and September 30, 2019.
The older case was part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation involving at least 18 men.
