STAPLETON — A simple call into work turned into a big surprise for Stapleton’s Jim Fox.
Fox was greeted by the KBEAR crew at Kimber’s Sinclair Oil, where he was announced as the grand prize winner of KBEAR 92.3 “Walker on the Wild Side”giveaway.
“I’ve got some really good news for you… you are our grand prize winner,” KBEAR’s Adam Smith told Fox during the surprise.
Fox said he had entered the contest several times after hearing about it on the radio. Jim was a rare double finalist, with entries drawn from two different locations, those of which being Gateway Motors and Power Solutions.
The surprise was coordinated with help from Kimber’s Sinclair Oil. Manager Kim Kramer said she was excited to help make it happen.
“I was really excited for him, maybe more excited than he was going to be,” Kramer said.
Fox’s reaction was grateful and appreciative.
“Yeah… that’s all right,” he said when asked about winning the new mower.
Along with the new Walker mower, Fox also received an all-expenses-paid trip to Fort Collins, Colorado, to tour the Walker Manufacturing facility, courtesy of Sandhill Oil.
The promotion included several area sponsors and highlighted strong local partnerships. Fox said he’s looking forward to putting the mower to use once the weather warms up.
