ARNOLD, NEB- More than 550 entries were submitted for this year’s third annual Claw for Cash promotion, culminating Friday afternoon with five finalists competing inside the “cash cube” at Mills Hardware in Arnold.
The event, presented in partnership with Security First Bank, featured contestants stepping into a cash-filled booth and attempting to collect as much flying cash as possible during a 30-second challenge.
Sponsors for the event included Mills Hardware, Security First Bank, Ol’ Ironsides BBQ & Banquet Hall, Agri Best Feeds, Ranchland Ford, Tim Zach Music and Auto Dealer Solutions.
Contestants qualifying for the finals included Becka Gregg of Ravenna, Deb Homan of Sargent, Lori Sullivan of Broken Bow, Montanah Bean of Mason City and Kallie Morse of Sargent.
Prize totals from the competition were:
- Becka Gregg — $102
- Deb Homan — $92.30
- Lori Sullivan — $297
- Montanah Bean — $380
- Kallie Morse — $108
The five finalists combined to collect a total of $979.30 during this year’s Claw for Cash event. Montanah Bean recorded the highest total of the event after collecting $380 during the timed challenge.

Andrew Tickle, with Mills Hardware, said the annual event has become a meaningful way to engage with area residents while showcasing products available at the store. Tickle also highlighted preparations underway for Mother’s Day shopping and said community-centered events continue to play an important role in supporting both the business and the town of Arnold.
Organizers thanked participants, sponsors and community members for supporting this year’s event and helping continue the growth of Claw for Cash as an annual local tradition.
