Five candidates were in the running for Cozad Mayor. The top two voter favorites who will move on to the November 3 general election are:
Chad Bice with 311 votes and Brian Woldt with 205 votes. The remaining three who will not move on are:
Willis Gibbens with 50 votes, Torrey Kloppenborg with 16 votes and Michael J. Dickinson with 14 votes.
In the race for Dawson County Commissioner District 3, unofficially, Kevin Swanson had the most votes with 225 and will move on to the November General Election. Ricky S. Benjamin had 141 votes.
In the Frontier County Sheriff’s race, Dwayne A. Wilson Jr. ran against Incumbent Michael Jordan. Unofficially, Michael Jordan had the most votes with 524. Dwayne A. Wilson Jr. had 97 votes.
Two candidates ran for Phelps County Sheriff following the retirement of Sheriff Gene Samuelson. Current Phelps County Chief Deputy Jamie Tilson ran against long-time trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Marty Denton.
Unofficially, the most votes went to Marty Denton with 1,090 votes. Jamie Tilson had 790 votes.
For Gosper County Sheriff, Craig Ward ran against Incumbent Joshua Richie. Unofficially, Joshua Richie had the most votes with 392. Craig Ward received 121 votes.
For Legislative District 38 there were five candidates. Unofficially, the top two voter favorites who will move on to the November General Election are:
Tim Anderson with 3,130 votes (35%) and Janelle Anderson Ehrke with 2,792 votes (31%).
The remaining three who will not move on are: Wes Wilmot with 1,369 (15%) Melanie Knight with 1,030 (11%) and Jon Capps with 714 (8%).
