KEARNEY — A Ravenna man accused of sexually assaulting a child will have his case move forward in Buffalo County District Court.
Michael Swanson, 36, faces two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. Both charges are Class 1B felonies.
Swanson is a registered sex offender stemming from a 2017 Buffalo County conviction for first-degree sexual assault.
During a preliminary hearing on Friday, June 5, a judge found probable cause to proceed with the case. Swanson was ordered bound over to district court, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on July 17 at 9 a.m.
Bond in the case was set at 10 percent of $500,000.
The probable cause affidavit has been sealed. However, the complaint alleges Swanson subjected a minor to sexual penetration on two separate dates: Sept. 6, 2019, and Feb. 2, 2026.
