The Nebraska Court of Appeals has upheld the convictions and sentences of a Ravenna man spending time in prison on child porn charges out of Custer County.
According to court documents, 48-year-old Casey Hall was sentenced to 10-20 years in prison last year for two counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Court records say a cyber tip in March of 2025 regarding child porn on Hall’s phone led to it being seized by investigators.
Authorities say 545 video images of child porn were found on his phone, and the ages of the victims ranged from 4-13 years old.
Following his sentencing, Hall filed an appeal, alleging the sentences imposed were excessive and that his trial counsel was ineffective.
The Court of Appeals disagreed, ruling the sentences imposed were within statutory limits and that his claims of ineffective assistance of trial counsel were either not sufficiently stated or that his counsel was not deficient.
