A 29-year-old Lexington man is being held without bond in the Dawson County Jail after being charged with three counts of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.
Josue Torres-Hernandez was taken into custody in the late afternoon of Friday June 19, 2026 on a Dawson County arrest warrant for the charges. Each charge is a Class 1b Felony that carries a minimum of 20 years to life imprisonment.
At a hearing Tuesday afternoon in Dawson County Court, Judge Jeffrey Wightman ordered that the defendant must remain in jail without bond.
Documents outlining the nature of the case have been sealed by the Court.
Judge Wightman set a preliminary hearing for Torres-Hernandez to be held on July 9, 2026 at 11:00am in the Dawson County Courtroom.
Torres-Hernandez was also charged with Driving Under Suspension during a traffic stop on Friday June 19, 2026.
