Warren Swain, who served as the “Voice of the Huskers” for six years passed away this week at age of 79 in Sarasota, Florida. JeffRatcliffe.com who covers Virginia sports was the first to report this news. Swain came to Nebraska in the mid 90’s from the Cavaliers where he held the same position for over a decade.
Swain was the lead voice for Nebraska football and basketball on the state wide Pinnacle Sports Network after they took over the contract from KFAB from 1996-2001. The native of Iowa called some big moments for Nebraska football including the Huskers last national championship in 1997. After moving on from the Huskers, Swain finished up his career calling games at Ohio and South Dakota universities.
