The Phoenix Suns agreed to terms with undrafted free agent Sam Hoiberg out of Nebraska this week. Hoiberg, the 6-foot guard, made the Big Ten All-Defensive Team this past season and was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection helping the Huskers to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.
The former walk-on started 35 games and scored nine points per game with 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals. He shot 38.1% from beyond the arc on 84 attempts. He also had one of the best assist to turnover margins in the country. Hoiberg spent five years at Nebraska, redshirting in 2021-22 as a walk-on before seeing his role grow each season. He is expected to join the Phoenix summer league team this offseason.
