GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island traffic stop led to several charges after police say officers found stolen credit and debit cards, gift cards, gaming systems, and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle.
Jeisson Abril Beltran is charged in Hall County Court with aiding and abetting unauthorized use of a financial device, criminal conspiracy, theft by receiving stolen property, no operator’s license, and a stop light violation.
Wilson Cruz Guzman is charged with unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, theft by receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy, criminal impersonation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Angie Roncancio Pineda is charged with unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, theft by receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with evidence.
A fourth person, Michel Reyes Cadena, was arrested on an immigration hold.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Grand Island police officer saw a white Lexus run a red light on Tuesday at Webb Road and North Front Street. The vehicle, driven by Abril Beltran, was later stopped in the Hy-Vee parking lot.
Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle during the stop. The affidavit says Cruz Guzman was found with marijuana paraphernalia.
During a search, officers reported finding multiple Apple and Visa gift cards, electronic gaming systems, and stolen credit and debit cards inside the vehicle.
Investigators said the stolen cards had been used to buy gift cards and gaming systems at Walmart North in Grand Island. According to court records, Roncancio Pineda attempted to hide the stolen cards on the floorboard of the vehicle but was seen by officers.
The affidavit says Roncancio Pineda, Cruz Guzman, and Reyes Cadena used the stolen credit and debit cards to purchase $2,111 worth of merchandise. Police said Abril Beltran drove the group to make the purchases.
