The community of Bertrand will be buzzing with family fun and plenty of activities for all starting this Saturday, June 27th and runs through Tuesday, June 30th.
Things kick off Saturday with the Bertrand Open Horse Show at 8am at the Roy Gardine Arena. The sand volleyball tournament and Joe Kennedy Memorial Corn Hole Tournament are both at 10am.
Saturday at 5pm is Bertrand Brews and BBQ on Minor Avenue before the street dance at 9pm featuring On the Fritz.
Sunday there will be a community worship service at the Bertrand Community School east gym at 10:30am. The Antique Tractor Parade at Hi-Line Ag will follow at Noon, with the tractor pull at 10:30pm.
New this year is the Quackfest Duck Dash at 5pm on Sunday put on by Bertrand Fire and Rescue. Special presentations and crowning of Miss Bertrand at the Sonatorium will be at 6pm then a free family fun night at 6:30pm at the Bertrand Baseball Field.
Beverly Hansen is Co-Chair for the Bertrand Fair Serving Committee. She gives a rundown of events for Monday and Tuesday.
Hansen says the parade on Tuesday is a long-standing tradition that draws a huge crowd.
Monday and Tuesday, as Hansen mentions, features the Bertrand Rodeo.
Kylie Wilken is one of the rodeo organizers and gives details on this year’s rodeo.
Wilken talks more on the kids’ activities.
Wilken adds that tickets can either be purchased in advance or at the gate.
