A North Platte man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he crashed a pickup into a home while allegedly driving under the influence.
According to court documents, officers were dispatched shortly after 11:15 p.m. Monday to a residence at 301 East 13th Street in Lexington after reports that a vehicle had jumped a curb and struck the front of a house. Police found a Ford F-250 pickup with significant front-end damage, along with extensive damage to the home’s front entrance. No one inside the residence was injured. The driver and sole occupant, identified as 30-year-old Robert Adams, showed signs of impairment, according to investigators, who reported smelling alcohol, observing slurred speech and unsteady movements, and receiving an admission of alcohol consumption.
Authorities say several alcohol containers were also found inside the pickup. Adams was taken to Lexington Regional Health Center for medical clearance before being transported to the Lexington Police Department for chemical testing. Court records indicate a breath test measured his blood-alcohol concentration at 0.227, nearly three times Nebraska’s legal limit of 0.08. Adams was booked into the Dawson County Jail and has been charged with Driving Under the Influence- .15+, Possession of Open Alcohol Container and No Proof of Insurance.
