Community leaders, healthcare professionals and advocates unite Sept. 3 to support women’s heart health
KEARNEY, NE — The American Heart Association, a global force changing the future of health for all, invites community members to attend the 2026 Central Nebraska Go Red for Women, formerly known as Kearney Go Red for Women, on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at the Younes Conference Center.
The annual event will bring together hundreds of individuals from Central Nebraska’s business, medical and social communities to raise awareness and critical funds to fight cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women.
The evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction, offering attendees an opportunity to connect with local leaders and supporters. Guests will then enjoy dinner, a live auction, an inspiring survivor story and a health-focused keynote presentation highlighting the importance of prevention, education and research in improving women’s health outcomes.
“Central Nebraska Go Red for Women is more than a fundraiser—it’s a movement that empowers women to take charge of their health while supporting lifesaving research and community education,” said Lauren Wehr, Development Director – American Heart Association, Nebraska. “Every story shared and every dollar raised helps us create a future of longer, healthier lives for women across Nebraska and beyond.”
Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s signature initiative dedicated to increasing awareness of cardiovascular disease and stroke among women. Funds raised through the event help support groundbreaking research, community programs, public health initiatives and education efforts designed to improve cardiovascular health for everyone.
Community members, healthcare professionals and businesses are encouraged to attend and support the mission through sponsorships, auction participation and event attendance.

About Go Red for Women® The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For more than two decades, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
