LOUP CITY, Neb. — The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a $1,500 Overtime Enforcement Grant from the Nebraska Highway Safety Office to increase traffic enforcement efforts over the next two weeks.
The grant, identified as #4021-26-33-25, will fund additional patrol hours as part of the statewide Speeding High Visibility Enforcement campaign.
Deputies will conduct overtime enforcement from July 27 through Aug. 9, with a primary focus on identifying and stopping speeding violations. The increased patrols are intended to reduce speeding-related crashes while also addressing other traffic violations encountered during the enforcement period.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages motorists to obey posted speed limits, drive attentively, and allow extra travel time to reach their destinations safely.
The grant is provided through the Nebraska Highway Safety Office to support local law enforcement agencies in improving roadway safety across the state.
