A Lincoln orthopedic surgeon is the subject of disciplinary action over sexual harassment allegations.
The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office announced on Tuesday that disciplinary action has been taken against Dr. Steven Shannon.
A settlement with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires Shannon’s physician license to be revoked for at least two years, and he has been ordered to pay a $20-thousand-dollar civil penalty to DHHS.
Any future reinstatement of his license will be subject to full payment of the penalty and approval by the DHHS and the Nebraska Board of Medicine and Surgery.
