The Huskers Radio Network has announced that Jay Moore will be the new color commentator for Husker Football games for the 2026 season.
The Defensive End from Elkhorn played for the Huskers from 2002-2006. He was drafted by San Francisco in the 4th round of the 2007 NFL Draft, and played with the 49ers, Rams, and Titans. He also played two seasons for the Omaha Nighthawks from 2010-2012.
After his retirement from playing football, Moore has appeared on Nebraska Public Media’s “Big Red Wrap Up” and has been a host on Hail Varsity Radio.
Moore steps in to fill the place of Damon Benning, who was announced as Nebraska’s Director of Player Development/Brand Strategy earlier this month. Kyle Crooks returns for his second season as Nebraska Football’s Play-by-play voice.
