KEARNEY, Neb. — Kearney High School is adding some extra excitement to its home football opener later this month. The Bearcats will host the North Platte Bulldogs on Friday, Aug. 28, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at UNK’s Foster Field. Fireworks will be featured throughout the evening as part of the game-day celebration.
School officials say fans can expect pregame fireworks, additional displays following every Bearcat touchdown, and a fireworks finale after the game. Kearney Public Schools is encouraging supporters to pack Foster Field, wear blue and gold, and help create a lively atmosphere as the Bearcats open their home schedule against North Platte.
