Lincoln, NE – A man serving prison time for a 2001 murder in Lincoln County has died.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says 74-year-old Daniel Losinger died Sunday at the Reception and Treatment Center.
While the cause of death has not been determined, he was being treated for a medical condition.
State prison officials say Losinger was serving a 60 year to life sentence for 2nd-Degree Murder and a weapons count in the 2001 death of Vicki Soto.
He had been serving that sentence since October 27, 2003 after pleading no contest to the charges.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the NDCS, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
