A 25-year-old Kearney man is in custody following the execution of a high-risk search and arrest warrant at an apartment near West 35th Street in Kearney. Authorities say members of the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit served the warrant October 9 after investigators obtained information leading them to the residence occupied by Blaine W. Slagle. Officers contacted Slagle inside the apartment and took him into custody without incident.
According to Kearney Police, Slagle was wanted on two Texas fugitive-from-justice warrants involving possession of a controlled substance and felony evading arrest. He was also arrested on four Buffalo County warrants alleging burglary, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm, and theft by shoplifting. He was transported to the Buffalo County Jail. Police credited the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, and CHI Health Good Samaritan for assisting with the operation.
