Lincoln, Neb. — A record-breaking 1,600-plus landmarks across the U.S. and around the world, including the Nebraska State Capitol, skyscrapers, stadiums, halls of fame, hotels, arenas, and bridges, will glow teal on November 2 for Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
Instead of full, floodlighting across the entire Nebraska State Capitol, the colored light effects are primarily concentrated on the central vertical column of the tower and its recessed windows.
When the building transitions from its standard warm white or amber glow, it takes on a completely different character.
The 14-foot bronze “Sower” statue at the very top of the dome typically remains a dark silhouette, while the gold-glazed tiles of the dome reflect the upward-cast color from the tiers below.
